Karafuu Hotel Beach Resort & SPA is the only hotel on the east coast where you can enjoy a comfortable and safe swim in the ocean at low tide.
A concrete path in front of the hotel leads you to the beach to a permanent natural depression in the ocean bed, just 200 meters offshore, offering a giant natural swimming pool deep enough for small boats to moor in.
The hotel opened in 1995 and is aptly named after the Swahili word for cloves, ‘Karafuu” which are grown in abundance on Zanzibar [especially on Pemba].

Dive Center

Dive Center (Mawimbi Diving School) equipped with all the modern equipments offers the very best of diving which includes many courses and specifically PADI Scuba diving. i.e Refresh courses, Discover Scuba Diving, PADI Scuba Diver, PADI open water, PADI advanced open Water, PADI Rescue Diver, Emergency First Response, SCUBA diving for experienced and Snorkeling trips.

Weekly entertainment includes Disco, Masai Show, Instrumental Music, Cabaret Show, Ngoma Ngoma Dance, Acrobatic Show and Live Band music,

Kijiji/Main Restaurant serving buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, in addition weekly theme nights featuring Gala Dinner, International Night, Seafood, Barbeque, Oriental Night including Swahili and Masai Dinner regularly organized every Monday and Friday at Masai Village when Marikiti is closed.
Besides we have 3 “Ala Carte”Restaurants – Bondeni, Pizzeria and Le grand Blue- specialty Restaurant basically for seafood.
Our entire A la carte Restaurants booking reservation is required.
Meza Moja Restaurant is special for Honeymooner, private Dinner and romantic candle lit dinner and some special request i.e Wedding Anniversary, Birthday celebration etc
